Here's the quote about truth that I was trying to remember yesterday: "The teaching is merely a vehicle to explain the truth. Don't mistake it for the truth itself. The teaching is like the raft that carries you to the other shore. The raft is needed, but the raft is not the other shore. An intelligent person would not carry the raft on his head once he reaches the other shore. Use my teaching to help you get to the other shore but do not hang onto it as your property. You must be able to let go. - Buddha You all helped me remember something else ... to describe my path to others as "practicing Buddhism" rather than being "a practicing Buddhist." No label. So good to be with you all - thank you! Elisabeth
Please feel free to leave a comment at any time. Perhaps on something we covered at the meeting, or something that has come up for you in your practice or daily life. The comments section is open for furthering the discussion, posing questions, brainstorming and sharing insights between gatherings.
